Dispatcher DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE with 6 day
residency.
AGS offers a FAA approved
Distance Learning Course (DLC) in addition
to our standard 13 weekend program. The DLC is
designed so that you may complete the first 10
weekends (160 hours) of our 13 weekend ground
school at your own pace. You have 1 year to
complete course requirements.
Upon completion of the first 9
AGS "open book" exams at our website
& the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Computer
Knowledge exams, you will then attend either a 6
day residency study program at Northern Kentucky
near Cincinnati, OH.
REGISTRATION
FEES
The DLC fee is $2395 &
includes books, materials, & the FAA
examiner fee. You may register with a
non-refundable $500 deposit at which time we
will forward the initial study materials and a
M1 visa application. The balance ($1895) is due
8 days prior to class & can be paid with
cash, check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, or
Travelers Checks. You are responsible for travel
expenses, meals, and hotel.
DATES
& LOCATIONS
The 6 day DLC Residency classes are held
in the Cincinnati, Ohio area every 2 months. Be advised that
our program is popular and classes fill quickly.
FAA
REQUIREMENTS
There are 5 milestones in your
training for which we provide all study
materials: 1st, the FAA Private Pilot
multiple choice computer knowledge exam. You
must be knowledgeable on the same fundamentals
as a private pilot.
2nd, the FAA Aircraft
Dispatcher computer knowledge exam. This is
the advanced multiple choice test.
3rd, successful
completion of the first 9 open-book AGS
multiple choice exams at our website.
4th, completion of the
mandatory six days of residency training.
5th, you must then
complete the final exam: a FAA oral/practical
test within 90 days of graduation. Your
instructor will schedule this exam at a time
convenient to both you and the FAA Examiner.
Plan a few days after class to prepare for this
test.
A successful score on the FAA
Private Pilot and Dispatcher exams, & the
AGS open-book exams is proof that you have
studied & learned the basic concepts &
are ready for the intense 6 days of residency
study. Be advised the FAA computer knowledge
exams are the most difficult part of the course.
FAA computer testing is
available internationally in many
locations. AGS is a CATS testing center, If you plan on
testing here, you must arrive several days early in
the US to sit for these exams. You are
responsible for the cost of these exams (approx.
$150 each in the US), and they can all be taken at our school.

dispatcher exam, take the Airline Transport
Pilot, Part 121 (ATP) exam for practice as it is
similar.
WORKLOAD
Be advised that the materials
provided will require hours & hours of
reading & study, & involves a certain
dedication on your part to complete the
requirements. Again, this is an intense
course & procrastination is your worst
enemy! You should enroll now in order to receive
the study materials to get started with your
career.
PREREQUISITES
No prior aviation experience
is required to enroll in our Distance Learning Course. You must
be 21 years of age to attend. If less than 23, a letter will be
issued by the FAA examiner stating you meet all requirements. Your
license will be automatically issued on your 23rd birthday.
Subject Matter - Meteorology,
Emergencies, Dispatch Resource Management,
Aeronautical Information Manual, Boeing Turbojet
Systems, Performance Charts, airline Operations
Specifications, Approach & Instrument
Charts, Flight Planning, & Federal Aviation
Regulations Part 121 (covered in the 6 days of
residency study). This is a Private &
Instrument Pilot ground school with a Boeing
737. A simple high school math level
involving addition, subtraction, multiplication,
& division is required & basic
typing/computer skills.

The discounted
lodging rates for our students range from $55 per night.
BOOKS
& MATERIALS
The following training materials are mailed to you
as part of your training package (& are yours to keep for your
personal library): Rod Machado Private Pilot Manual; Jeppesen
flight computer; AGS ATP/Dispatcher test prep manual;
plotter; AGS OPS Manual (3 ring); International Time Wheel. Bold
items and a pocket calculator should be brought to class.
THE
FAA ORAL / PRACTICAL EXAM
Following training, you are
required to sit for a final exam consisting of a
oral/practical flight plan exercise with a
turbojet from city A to city B. You have
approximately 2 hours to complete the flight
planning exercise followed by a 2 hour oral
examination with the FAA Examiner on staff.
We suggest you schedule your return trip for
several days after class in case you have any
training issues which need to be resolved.
*AGS cannot guarantee you a
job, however we will make every effort to assist
you in your job search! There are no US jobs
available for foreign students but the FAA
license is recognized in many countries.
M-1
STUDENT VISA
We will airmail a visa
application to you to present to the US
Consulate or Embassy when you declare your class
date. It takes 90 days to process a visa now. All
students are required to have a M-1 Visa due
to new immigration rules imposed since Sep.,
11th, 2001.
